First Meeting of the Signatories (MOS1) of the MOU on the Conservation of Southern South American Migratory Grassland Birds and Their Habitats

Asunción, Paraguay | 14 December 2010

The CMS Secretariat, together with the Government of Paraguay, as MOU Coordinator, organized the First Meeting of the Signatories of the CMS MOU on the Conservation of Southern South American Migratory Grassland Bird Species and Their Habitats. The meeting took place in person on Tuesday 14th of December 2010 in Asunción, Paraguay.

This meeting was addressed to all MOU Signatory countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Urugay, as well as to observers working in Grassland bird conservation in the region.

Goals of the Meeting

1. Reviewing the proposed Action Plan for migratory grassland birds in southern South America
2. Discussing institutional and procedural matters, including coordination mechanisms for the MoU
3. Setting the date and location for the next meeting of the MoU Signatories

Key Meeting Outcome

1. Adoption of the Action Plan.
